Are You In Need Of A Miracle?

A Miracle? Today? You bet!

I’m in need of them every day.

Who among us hasn’t asked for a miracle?

Have you?

Have you prayed for a miracle? Cried out to a known . . . or even an unknown God for one? Have you resorted to calling a physic? Totaled your numbers in numerology?

If you’re brave enough, I hope you’ll tell me about it in the comments section after reading this post.

All of these are us searching for help from outside ourselves. Something bigger than we are.

And this is Miracle Series Post #7

If you are new to this blog I would encourage you to follow these links and start at Miracle Series Post #1. Then read the others so this post will make better sense.  Here are links to the previous posts:

Picking Up Where We Left Off

My last post brought you to March. We lost Rob, and my friend, Vicki, soon after. My misery paled in comparison to the gut wrenching heartache of people I now cared very deeply for. I started coming out of my emotional fog by praying for these two families.

It was about this time my daughter, Mika, gave me my, “comeuppance” .  She, not too delicately, told me my recent blog posts were a cop-out and I needed to be open and honest with what was going on in my life. She was right. I apologized in the post  Responsibility, I Let You Down.

In writing that post, I figured out why I had found every excuse in the world to not write anything. Looking at the truth was just too hard.

But after my miracle daughter re-opened my eyes, I started looking for God in the tiniest detail of every day. And I Found Him!

I found Him here, in the sunrise from my front door on a particularly difficult morning

miracles, miracles, God, God's love, family, love

The Miracle Sunrise

And here, in the miracle of my amazing, loving family.

My Miracle family at the first barrel race of the season – Moab in April 2014

Hidden in that photo, under Mika’s blue sweat shirt, is the miracle of my precious grand daughter. The tiny creature who kept me clinging to my sanity as I sloshed my way through this move and transition to a new life, in a new place, a new job, as I struggled to find new friends . . .

And the old me.

The me that was confident, strong, a fighter, a survivor, happy, and content.

The only photo I had of my inspiration looked like a peanut. So our tiny baby was Grandma’s “Peanut” for months. And I clung to the love of that child, my daughter, and son-in-love as I climbed out of my dark night of the soul. And no, love was not a miss-spelled word.

My Little Peanut

Together they carried me through.

No, that’s not totally right.

Their love, grounded in my love and trust in God, and His son, Jesus, carried me through.

And “Peanut” was my lifeline.

She kept everything in perspective.

And the funny thing is, we all new she was a she, long before we “knew” she was a she.

Everyone.

It’s All In How You Look At It

Life presents us with choices. So many choices.

We always have a choice to look at things from the positive, or from the negative.

We have the choice to do what’s right, or what’s wrong.

We have the choice to look up and see the rainbow  –

miracles, God, love, life lessons

Miracles of a Double Rainbow!

Or keep our head down and miss beauty all around us.

Spring had officially arrived and just like the grass, the trees, the flowers, and my new grand baby, I made the choice to come back to life.

Yes, Kristi, I love your blog and “Miracle series.”

I too struggle with keeping everything up in my posting, but I also believe that God may be forcing me to postpone, because it’s meant for one or more people at that particular time.

I remember when I was working the job before my serious strokes. My depression got so bad that I seriously thought I could not make it. I felt trapped and didn’t know where to turn. I was even too sick to trust God enough to help me. I needed His help faster. I am still amazed that I made it. I would never commit suicide, but that’s how bad I was.

Then I had my severe strokes. They brought me out of the situation in a way I could never have expected. Even though the neurologist told my family I would never walk or talk again, because the motor function part of my brain was gone. Of course God had different plans and I could walk and talk again, although as a child. I had to learn everything again.

The following six months where the happiest time in my life. This happened in September 2004 and I have been so close to God ever since. Not because I was becoming stronger, but because God had loved me enough to save me. He save me from a care center, which I would have had to live in the rest my life, and gave me a niece and two nephews, which I have been blessed to watch grow up. For 15 years they have been my life and now that they don’t need me as much, I am strong enough to venture out from under my families wing.

I have always loved people, but now they are all that I care about. Now that I am retired/disabled, I have more time to help those in need. Showing them God’s love. The same love that He gives me. And it’s not about me, it’s about God working through me to show everyone that they are special. God loved them enough to send His Son to die for them, so that they could have eternal life with Him in heaven.

The miracles that have happened ever since are miraculous to say the least. And I praise Kristi for sharing her life, which gives me added strength, knowing everyone goes through hard times. And it’s my hope that God sends me to those who need my assistance sharing God’s love.

Without this blog I would never have shared my story online.

So that my friends, is why I share a little of my life, the painful and the joyful.

    They God bless you richly.

Without fail, I can see God’s mighty power and am so thankful of His promises to work all things together for good when we love and focus on Him. I don’t ever want to forget His love that guides me and gives me hope no matter life’s circumstances. Thanks so much for sharing!
