Ok, let’s get back to our story!!
The Deal Was Dead
From our story last week you know the real estate deal was dead. I had given up.
Late Wednesday afternoon my lender called and said neither the title company or the sellers agent had called him to confirm the closing. The funds for the loan come from Washington DC so he had to request the money at least two days in advance. Since no one had called to confirm the closing, and there still was no agreement on who was paying for the survey, he had not ordered funds. There was no way to get the money here to close on Friday.
He went on to add that since it was the sellers agents fault the funds hadn’t been requested, if the sellers would agree to move the closing date to April 1st or later, my interest rate would go down.
But when my real estate sister called the seller’s agent to notify her of the funding situation, she went ballistic!
On top of all this turmoil, that the woman of the couple selling, hand wrote me a very hurtful letter about how I was making their life miserable and I had personally caused her to be hospitalized with and intestinal problem. She asked me to never speak to her or her husband again – and hand delivered it to my work!
Add all this to the survey stalemate, I was done.
My sister and I had yet another long talk about the situation and told her I was tired of the fighting, tired of the stress.
I was done.
The deal was done.
Please notify the seller’s agent.
Then I sent a text the seller husband and apologized for destroying their life.
Not 20 seconds later my phone rang – it was him.
He had no idea his wife had written me the letter. He apologized. He explained they had several other issues going on at the same time and it was just more stress than she could deal with right then. She had developed a tummy problem and ended up dehydrated. The dehydration caused her to be hospitalized, not me.
I told him about the funds not getting requested. He said if I would agree to pay for the survey he would agree to close on the 1st.
And just like that we were back on.
I called my sister, she called the other realtor back, and told her the seller had called me, and just that quickly the closing was back on, and scheduled on April 1st, and my interest rate dropped.
How Does God Work?
In mysterious ways!
That entire mess saved me over 1 1/2 percent on my interest rate. That was a chunk of money!
Was I tested? Was this an exercise in learning to trust God more?
Five days later we closed and God blessed me with this gorgeous property!
I am still in awe of what God has done in my life in the past two years. What He is still doing!
When Should You Trust God?
When you trust God miracles are the norm. He moves mountains when you truly trust God.
When there is no way, trust God?
When there is no hope, trust God!
Give yourself to Him and simply trust God!
And He will definitely show up!
Now I live in my own little slice of paradise! Here are a few pictures of my new place:
If there’s one thing I hope you take away from this incredible story, I hope it is to trust God!
Trust Him with everything in your life.
This property is not mine. It’s His! I’m just a care taker here. In the human world I would never have been able to have this place.
But because God stepped in and moved mountains, here I am.
It literally takes my breath away every day.
I would love to post hundreds of photos of it because every day I see it from a new light, a new vantage point, and am stunned that I live here.
When you trust God and allow Him to guide your steps, you will be blessed!
I guarantee it!
But you can’t manipulate it.
You have to have faith and learn to let go and let God.
His ways are higher than our ways.
I hope you have enjoyed this story of how God has worked in my life over the past three years. If you missed any post, the list is below.
